HyperCard stacks cannot be opened completely on their own; like word processing documents, their application must be available.
The HyperCard Program must be present on your hard disk or on a mounted floppy disk to open any HyperCard stack.
Although it is itself not a stack, the HyperCard Program contains the operating information that all stacks must have access to in order to run.
